The story of La Puerta Real Estate Services, LLC. How a dream translated into reality.

• A third-generation company. . La Puerta Real Estate Services, LLC is actually the 21^st century adaptation of the original land company founded by Steve and Wendy Gudelj in 1980. It was called The Placitas Land Company, or simply "The Land Company" as many remember. The mission of the original land company was to oversee rational development as Placitas grew beyond its old village limits. Clearly, as guardians of the community spirit the La Puerta Partners have a long tradition of service.
• "Homes" joins "Land." The vision of The Land Company was so successful that the agency found itself moving into residential resale. Steve and Wendy Gudelj created and built Placitas Land and Homes. To balance both land development and fine-home resale a name change was implemented in 1988. Soon thereafter (1992), Placitas Land and Homes moved into its own new 3400 sq. ft. pueblo-style office building at 01 Ridge Court. The agency has always functioned as an unofficial community center, with homeowner meetings and social events held after-hours at the office.
• A tradition, reborn. Steve Gudelj invited Lynn Koch and Lucy Noyes to join him as owner/partners. Reborn as La Puerta Real Estate Services, LLC, the company has displayed an unusual ability to adapt and change with the times. The original concepts of visionary land development, preservation of the rare Placitas way of life and comprehensive customer service never skipped a beat. Perhaps Thomas Wolfe was wrong. Maybe you can go home again.
• Expansion. La Puerta Real Estate Services, LLC expanded in September 2005 to increase its total building space to 5000 sq. ft. It now houses approximately 20 real estate agents, a full-time qualifying broker, a full-time marketing coordinator, three assistants, a bookkeeper and is staffed seven days a week. In 2006 our sister company, La Puerta Real Estate Referral Company, LLC was created.
